Director Daiichi Hirata, who brought his amazing "King Shō Hashi" musical to L.A. in 2009, will be returning to help us celebrate the inaugural World Uchinaanchu Day! He will be accompanied by a delegation of musicians, dancers, and karate practitioners from Okinawa.

Titled "演題 AKEMODORO: Horizons of OKINAWA," their dynamic presentation will blend traditional and modern elements, ensuring that this will be a must-see event!

Uchinaaguchi Class • 2nd Friday of each month @ 7PM, members only
Karaoke Club • 3rd Saturday of each month @ 5PM, members only
Nuchāshii Potluck Gathering • Last Thursday of each month @ 7PM
(Nuchāshii cancelled on October 26, 2017 due to World Uchinaanchu Day)

BECOME A MEMBER TODAY

About 800 families and individuals belong to the OAA. Most of our members have some familial connection to Okinawa. However, anyone interested in Okinawa can join the OAA. The membership fee is $20 per year for individuals and $30 per year for family membership. The OAA is supported by membership fees and by volunteer work.
