The Kajimaya Seniors Club celebrates their 15th anniversary at their annual luncheon! This event is open for OAA Kajimaya Seniors Club members only. RSVP and bento order forms have already been mailed to Kajimaya members. If you would like to become a Kajimaya member, please contact the OAA.

Angwātā x Nīsētā: Okinawa Youth Identity Series

The OAA invites you to the first in a series of presentations organized by young members of the local Okinawan community. Titled Angwātā x Nīsētā – “young women and men” in Uchināguchi – this series was created to provide a platform for young Okinawans to explore their roots through any medium that they see fit, be it lecture, workshop, or performance. Irei no Hi: Remembering the Battle of Okinawa

Designated as a prefectural memorial day by the Okinawa Government, Irei no Hi commemorates the end of the devastating Battle of Okinawa in 1945. Our June 17th event will include special guest speaker Robert Akers Martin, who, as a 19-year-old soldier in the U.S. 6th Marine Division, experienced the battle firsthand. BECOME A MEMBER TODAY

About 800 families and individuals belong to the OAA. Most of our members have some familial connection to Okinawa. However, anyone interested in Okinawa can join the OAA. The membership fee is $20 per year for individuals and $30 per year for family membership. The OAA is supported by membership fees and by volunteer work.
